The present day storyline that’s nominally the center of the book is weighed down by its absolute nothing of a protagonist - but all the flashbacks to Trisolaris and the cultural revolution are AMAZING. Ultimately the book is a lot of set-up — but it left me incredibly curious about where Liu is taking everything, so I can’t be that mad. Will be reading the next book.
