Narrator is kind of throwing me off because I feel like I’m supposed to know who he is even though everyone insists I didn’t need prior knowledge ab him.

Main plot hasn’t quite kicked yet. Yumi is interesting but painter seems a lil cringe rn. (He’s 19 though so I think that’s the point.) Hoping it develops him further, and gives her more monologue rather than ritual.
