The Legend of John von Neumann - P. R. Halmos (1916-2006) mathematician from Budapest, who was once John’s assistant, provides this sketch (p. 614). Von Neumann (1903-1957) made important contributions to quantum physics, logic, meteorology, war, theory and applications of high-speed computing machines, and via the mathematical theory of games of strategy, to economics (p. 614).
