I understand why Basil disapproves of the idea of Henry meeting Dorian. He holds him in such high regard and treats him like glass. He is obviously in love with him, and the innocence and ignorance of thought is clear in Dorian. As for Henry, he is very raw and corrupting. He has an exceedingly cynical view of life, and Dorian is just eating it up. I see what leads him to value youth and beauty so intensely.
