Painful to read and quite a slog. I appreciate its imagination but the characters were one dimensional and dull.

The uncle annoyed me time and time again while the insufferable narrator contributed pretty much nothing to this whole ordeal.

This would have been many times more enjoyable if it were written from Hans‘ POV.

Ah and some parts were unsurprisingly racist.
