Great start: got me hooked on the character presentation and how her surroundings interacted with her.
The power surge was obvious from the get go: she had 0 powers and eventually she'll work for them right? Sure, but I didn't expect for her to get it in 1 chapter. Even if it took ages (which is insignificant for godlike Circe), it felt like the power hasn't been earned. In a single chapter, "poof", power.
