I’m not feeling generous rn as I rerate this

Apparently I rated this three stars last time…

Rn, I’ll be rating it two point five.

Prob the best thing about this read every time now has been Viper. And his “art” which really should be the cover photo.

I had the thought that the writing was shit most of the time

And the realization that I while I enjoy many of this authors books, it was more the concept and stories than the actual writing.

Execution has been shit…
So I find myself rewriting the stories in my mind.

Just finished rereading this bc I got the notion to finally finish the entire series (I had the last book in my library for almost a year and just didn’t read it I guess)
And I can see why when i started this reread

I hope book two goes by quickly.

Idk when this series came out in comparison to her chosen/aria series…
bc it reads like it came before them..my reasoning being that her writing must’ve improved. This book was so meh.
A flat three stars. Did I think the same way the first time I read this??? Idk and idr

There’s just enough to make me ..not want…but almost curious for the rest of the story to finish.

This might be my least favorite series from this author

Even though it’s a reread, it’s not very easy..
sure there are some entertaining moments, but the majority of this has been so fucking boring and tedious. The inner monologues, mental acrobats, overthinking and unnecessary info dumps.. pulls me out every time. I find myself skipping whole passages.
Pretty sure over half this book is ^ that shit.

This is a reread to refresh so I can finish the entire series

Assuming it’s a trilogy

I recalled right away after reading the fmc name that I didn’t like it the first time around
Bc it’s so blatantly a stupid mashup of Arwen and Eowyn.
Ugh
And now this Ehrendil???

I’m just annoyed.

Loved the visuals provided, though I wish I’d known they were there in the end of the book..
A few annoyances that stood out to me.. the dialogue & the way they spoke sometimes, felt repetitive & almost indistinguishable from each other. I think I realized I just can’t stand it when phrases like “holy shit” is used, seems…immature & closer to those teen rom coms.
+ I’d rather have more of the crazy manic one.
