I am enjoying the book, but it is densely researched and rich in details explaining many of the reasons for almost every decision or event. That is great for gaining an understanding not just about Banigan, but also the histories of Ireland, the US, New England, and Rhode Island, all at the same time. But it makes for a slow read, at least for me.
