So Lighthour came and went, and gradually the sun crept once more into Borea’s shade, and slow but sure the mists rolled up off the sea to deaden the slap of wavelets and shroud the ship in undulating milky billows.

Who here has ever used the word out loud in real life?
"every other genre"? Not sure Agatha Christie or Mickey Spillane ever used the word 'undulating', but it sure is fun to say outloud 🧚♀️🙋🏼!
Yeah, I remember watching the sun set and saying to the person next to me, look at those waves, they ripple and undulate all over the place. Uh-huh. No funny looks or anything.
Thanks so much for pointing me in the direction of "many examples from across fiction". Love the premise of the Patreon platform, and the “Merphy Napier undulate” site looks wild and worth it, but one has to 'join' in order to view the video(s); alas my loss, other than my email platform and this gr platform, I'm just not much a platform 'joiner' 🧚♀️🙋🏼.
