O little town of Bethlehem
how still we see thee lie
above thy deep and dreamless sleep
the silent stars go by.

Yet in thy dark streets shineth
the everlasting light
the hopes and fears of all the years

Something told the wild geese
It was time to go
Though the fields lay golden
Something whispered - 'snow'

Leaves were green and stirring,
Berries, lustre-glossed,
But beneath warm feathers
Something cautioned - 'frost'

Es gibt mir leider echt gar nichts, aber ich hab jetzt schon über ein halbes Jahr durchgehalten, es fühlt sich an, als wär’s jetzt zu spät, um aufzuhören

Laugh, and the world laughs with you
Weep, and you weep alone
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Natürlich ist mir bewusst, dass Bücher wie dieses eine gewisse Allgemeingültigkeit brauchen, aber dass die jetzt schon mit den Ostergedichten anfangen, wo Ostern dieses Jahr noch so weit entfernt scheint, fühlt sich irgendwie komisch an.

Nach zweieinhalb Monaten kann ich leider ehrlich feststellen, dass Lyrik mir nichts gibt. Oder die Gedichte sind einfach nicht gut gewählt 💁🏼‍♀️
