I am not convinced of the “love” between Santiago and Fatima. Where did this come from? A single moment of eye contact and a brief exchange of words has them committed to each other forever? I also hate how underdeveloped she is as a character. Nothing is revealed about who she is as a person, except for her commitment to wait behind for Santiago and live only for him… right.

This is… just ok. I’m kind of reading it just to get through it at this point.
