I'm so sad :( I usually love Elise Kova's books, but this one will be a DNF for me. 😭 I was so hyped for this read, but after 60%, I just can't connect with the story anymore. I neglected the book for several days and I just don’t have the motivation to get back into it. So, my first read of the year will be a DNF 💔

I feel like this read will be a solid 3 stars if it keeps going this way. I love the characters, but the story feels a bit shallow. In my opinion, relationships form too quickly, and situations resolve too easily. I don’t know... I feel like Faelyn and the others adapt too "smoothly" to complex events, making it seem a little unrealistic. Also… definitely not enough of Evander, but fingers crossed that changes!
