very intriguing. some points: love the writing style, characters are complex and have a sympathy to them i think adds to the story. they are all women just living their lives trying to what they have to to survive. i can’t tell if the two main leads will get together at any point. i rlly can’t predict where this is going 10/10

the difference in language and writing style between this book set in 1874 and Grey Dog set in 1900 is insane. this is so much more legible even with the english spellings (ie gaol) and the main character (also a spinster with mysterious past i don’t wanna spoil but similar events) is much more interesting and likeable. idk what the author of Grey Dog was doing but she should study this author’s works
