Tempo good. Plot intriguing. Dialogue PMO. I think my brain just gets easily confused. Just use quotations? Unfortunately relating to Frances in a way that might hurt me later on in the plot. Stay tuned.

Still enjoying. Plot feels slow but I’m not bored, which is good. Dialogue not getting easier, fearful that I am dumb. Something I’ve been appreciating is the reality of it all. The concept is a little weird to me but the execution is completely believable. Like, I get it. I also have begun to really like Melissa. I think this is an incredible feat on Rooney’s part. Hoping to finish today.

it helped my friend and me to understand dialogue more easily when I read it in an irish accent (but also sally rooney’s writing can absolutely be an acquired taste!)
