Could you let me know which of the Newbery Honor titles from the 1920’s, 1930’s, 1940’s and 1960’s you think are a must read? I’ve read at least one from each year in these decades and plan to finish all the 1950’s. I was able to get them all read since 1970. Thanks!!!

I wouldn’t say anything from the 20’s is a must read. From the 30’s, I liked Little Black Nose about a train. It was very cute. It appeals to a younger audience under 10. I also enjoyed Swift Rivers. It talks about logging down the Mississippi River.1940’s: The Hundred Dresses
The Twenty One Balloons
Seabird
1960’s: From the Mixed Up Files of Basil E. Frankweiler
Island of the Blue Dolphins
A Wrinkle in Time
I really didn’t like many from the early years. They were tough to get through.
