I have so far only read the (extensive) introductory material, but even this has already proven brilliant and valuable. Alter constructs a conscious philosophy of translation that communicates not only the factual content of the Hebrew text, but also its beauty and literary flow. I look forward to experiencing Genesis through this unique, literary lens of translation.
