The on and off relationship of Tanner and Aexis is still going on.

He looked so peaceful. I reached down and brushed his cheek with my finger. Before I had time to think, he jumped out of bed and pinned to the wall, his forearm pressed against my neck.
"It's me—Alexis," I choked out.
"Alexis?" Cliff moved his arm. "What are you doing here?" He backed up, grabbed a bathrobe, and wrapped himself up.
"I came to surprise you. Apparently I succeeded."
