Ugh. This short story compilation had me wondering how to teach it. How do I explicate it so 20 somethings could relate to these privileged White women with either champagne problems or soci-cultural crises that they solve via violence? I wasn’t interested in those conversations and the random explicit sex scenes seemed gratuitous so I bailed. Cut it from the curriculum and went with My Antonia by Cather.
