Honoring how much of a work of devotion, love, and intention this book is by Alexis Pauline Grumbs - there is so much reverence for and devotion to Audre Lorde's life and impact. And... I wish it felt more easeful and engaging for me to get through. I think this will be something I pick up every now and then. Every really want something to be a 5/5 but it's just not quite there for you?

omg i want to read this so bad, it's good to know it's def more of a slow read, i feel that way about Audre Lorde's writing in general, like her writing is not something i'm able to speed through, but it must be savored, digested, etc. before continuing. def trying to find more books that help me slow down hahah

It's such a beautiful and deep work of devotion, research, love. And so true about Audre Lorde's work ~ this biography definitely mirrors that and is a good reminder! To savor, digest, take my time. If I lean into this book more as a pick up and savor once in a while, rather than riveting can't wait to pick it up each night vibes, it feels better! I hope you enjoy it! <3
