Have you read the caraval trilogy? It’s the story that takes place before everything that happens in these books and I thought those were really good.

i have heard of that, i might read it soon! honestly i think i'm just not a big romantasy fan, considering how i wasn't a fan of this or divine rivals. i'll give caraval a try though!
