I'm still enjoying this book. The chapters on reciprocating and recognizing God's love were lofty and flew over my head, but the chapters on resisting Western imperialists' colonization of the Muslim faith and mind were resonant and a welcome inclusion in the book.

I love the speeches so far. Dr. Abou El Fadl speaks about knowing one self as a pathway to God, testing and pursuing knowledge and it's sincerity, upholding the Islamic ideal of moral agency and ethicality even when it's a dying practice, and to beware those who side with oppressors over the oppressed.
