Велике, велике задоволення для мене читати Карпелеса паралельно з Прустом. Тішуся, що таке ж блаженство в мене буде з Данте, до якого теж маю кілька додаткових книг, в тому числі мистецтвознавчих.
І тут насолода не тільки в розгляданні картин, а й в паралельному читанні уривків з англійського перекладу.
От тільки-но, вивчив нове слово (що в мене буває досить рідко) - vicissitudes - чергування , мінливості, перипетії.

Прочитав вже 103 сторінки цього божественного за якістю видання... Таких цупких і якісних сторінок не має жодна українська книжка, а про запах і якість друку я взагалі мовчу. Блаженство, суще блаженство...

37 - саме стільки картин Пруст згадує в першому томі "У пошуках утраченого часу" - "На Сваннову сторону". Я дочитав перший том, а з ним і перший розділ путівника.
В цій книзі це,разом із передмовою - 83 сторінки.
З великим залассям я роздивлявся і аналізував кожне з полотен. Було тут багато моїх знайомців - Фра Анджеліко, Боттічеллі, Тернер. Були і нові : Лелуар, Машар, Ґайс.
Ну що ж, подорож продовжується! До краси!

Насолода від цього шедеврального додатку до іншого шедевру ВЕЛЕТЕНСЬКА!!!
Якість друку моєї паперової копії - божественна.
Ввідна стаття розкриває дуже важливі подробиці з життя Пруста, а далі - всі перелічені картини по розділах.
Чудово, що цей путівник буде зі мною з усіма сімома томами...
Ледве відірвався від розглядання портрета Махмеда Другого кисті Белліні.
Елітарна насолода для елітарних панів та пань!
