marguerite's xenophobic biographers wanted to pretend so bad that her literary genius meant she was held back by her relationship with an american woman, but they sucked at their jobs bc in reality she enjoyed work-life balance, loved her wife who was her greatest literary supporter/collaborator, and had a dog with her named Monsieur Popover. deal with it, cowards
