Reading for class (even though I always wanted to read it.) There’s nothing that could be said about this book that haven’t been already said but my God what a story. A few pages in and I was already crying. Maya Angelou’s writing and voice is so delicate and timeless. But what hurts the most when reading this work is the realization that this injustice happened, and even worse is still happening.
