As someone who used to live in Panama (and who was shocked when, as an Ashkenazi, I discovered a Jewish community existed there), this does a fairly good job of laying out the Jewish movement to the "New World" alongside Spanish & Portuguese settlers. BUT it's clearly intended for children but not advertised as such, and it pushes the Myth of Muslim Spain. :/ Published in 1989? Par for the course, then. 3 stars.
