bizarrely disturbing thus far, I didn’t realize Plutarch, who is supposed to be one of the greatest moral philosophers of all time, was so unbelievably ay okay with raping women … I know Roman’s were grossly sexist but even for Ancient Rome, this book is fucking uncomfortable to say the least in it’s nonchalant acedia towards the violence, humiliation, and brutalizing of women in all sorts of horrific ways
