Interesting to be in the Pacific (Philippines) instead of Europe where I think nearly all the women’s voices WWII historical fiction I’ve read has been set. Definitely paints the picture of what they went through. Not sure the endearing tie of friendship was solidly woven before it being tested. Worth reading, but can’t say I’m immersed.
