Can these girls be finally happy and stop suffering for men who don't care at all for them???

Was it really necessary to have over 50 pages of just Marianne crying over Willoughby?? Like girl I understand you but can something good happen to you at once?

How they can afford the big dinners and balls if not once the book mentions any of them working? Seriously, how do these people get their money? All they do is going for walks, going to each others house for dinner and playing cards.
