A lot happened Violet gas gain confidence in herself. She is also unraveling all the secrets that are all around her slowly. She needs to keep asking questions. Her mom and Xanden history definitely needs to be explored more cause he is learning that violet is nothing like her mother. But her mother seems to be also not all what she seems. It’s like she is just following orders cause that all she knows.

Slow start. Hard to follow the scene setting. Violet is the main character. Daughter of a general who killed rebel leaders and their family. The children are now with her in the training camp for warriors called riders to defend their nation want to kill her. The other sucky part is she has a condition that makes her body easy to break. No good for her and already this training camp mostly glorifies the strong.
