This reminds me of how I felt when I decided to go to Paris (alone, first time ever, no idea about French, and to top it all I was sick with chronic pelvic pain). I'd decided to go to see where I was in life. What were my limits? What could I do on my own? That trip transformed me, although it was nowhere close to this treacherous hike. But then the threshold of health was different too.
