i find it interesting how women are central in each tale.

and yet, it's been six centuries later and men are still confused and can't wrap their heads around the fact that women aren’t monolithic.

so... you met 29 people, and the /first/ one you decide to talk about is a man? you could have talked about a comely maiden, but instead you a man talk about ANOTHER man?
