I’ve never read a biography of a friend I know, until now. Susan is my dear friend and I admire her quiet strength so very much. To be like Susan when I “grow up” would be a great honor. As a missionary, wife, sister, friend, and author/creative—her faith is rock solid and deeply rooted in the joy of the Lord. Reading of someone’s life and pain I think is harder when you know them personally.

Not the most well-written book from a literary standpoint, but because I know Susan and Todd it is so so special. It’s like just listening to the Laffertys reminisce on their life together. I really enjoyed the words of Todd and Susan’s courtship—definitely a sweet reminder that the Lord has perfect timing and is working where we can’t see. Also I love that so many of Susan’s poems and songs are included.
