I think this book's characters, especially the main ones, were complex. She did not save Maks; she killed him. She did not love Maks anymore after he became a Casimuerto, so she gave up his life to return the spear for Lady de la muerte. I never liked Maks.

The book was a bit... odd, I don't like Maks OR Gustavo, but I can confirm I like Rose the most, as the youngest sibling. I like calm, dangerous characters.

I think I will improve on my reading score because I practice reading fast every time I read my reading book.

The book keeps me engaged by keeping the mystery and thrill of who this cold-blooded killer is.

Interesting. A new supporting character came into the book. He's a good supporting character from the first book.

His name is Nova Santiago.

"What good is our power if we can't help the people we love?" (Zoraida, 43).

"...All I want to do is to try and help him. That's it. He's still in there somewhere. What good is our power if we can't help the people we love?" (43).

This is my favorite quote because I love Lula's dedication to try and save the love of her life.

Lula Mortiz feels like a part of her has been broken after the battle in Los Lagos. A tragedy strikes when a bus crash leaves her friends and her boyfriend, Maks, dead. Lula is determined to save the love of her life, even if it means defying death herself.

Main Setting - In the summer, in Brooklyn, New York.
Fav Scene - Lula finds out that the spell DID work and that she healed Maks. (95).
It is my favorite scene because the Book did a good job of first stating that he was dead in the previous chapter—such a good twist in the book.

Favorite Scene, - My favorite scene is where the Sisters unite and attempt to save Maks (Lula's boyfriend). (Pages 58-64).

I like this scene because of how descriptive the book is about the scenery when the Spell takes place and how the book talks about Lula's feelings during the spell.
