I don't tend to get writer's block. But my advice would be to start a 'random writer's entry pad; every time you can't write, go to your entry pad and add to what you started; don't think, just write. Once back in the swing of things, your brain bubbling nicely, the ideas you were looking for will come naturally. Over thinking is a dangerous thing.

Writing your first draft? Well. . .then . . .write like a deranged madman, stay up for weeks on end drinking whiskey, eating nothing but cheese on crackers and living with the lights switched off. When it's all said and done, the final sentence in place, and finally your staring at your mind splurged across stacks of garbled pages of devoted mindlessness. . .you head off and take a break, eat a Kit-Kat, maybe. Then, you come back, after reevaluating your life, of course, and edit like a well-engineered professional.
