Matt Cary Williams is a self-published British novelist, lyricist, poet and short story writer. His writing is influenced by the widespread drug culture, socioeconomics and cultural diversity of his home city of Brighton, England. His work is self-described as the subgenre HowlerFicton, inspired by the popular style Gonzo Journalism, it focuses on the corruption of modern day society, fronted by mentally estranged youth protagonists. Written in third person, it is a style of writing without any claims to objectivity, which draws its power from a combination of real-life experience and self-satire, favouring a non-detached style therefore striving for a more personal approach. The genre’s tone engages in the harsher sides of reality; not lim ...more

But my advice would be to start a 'random writer's entry pad; every time you can't write, go to your entry pad and add to what you started; don't think, just write. Once back in the swing of things, your brain bubbling nicely, the ideas you were looking for will come naturally. Over thinking is a dangerous thing. (less)

Hunter S. Thompson
“Let us toast to animal pleasures, to escapism, to rain on the roof and instant coffee, to unemployment insurance and library cards, to absinthe and good-hearted landlords, to music and warm bodies and contraceptives... and to the "good life", whatever it is and wherever it happens to be.”
Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman

David Wong
“Amy said, "So, you're making a flamethrower?"
"Amy, we gotta be prepared. We don't know what we'll find in that place, but for all we know it could be the Devil himself."
"David, what possible good is that thing gonna do?"
"Oh, no, you didn't hear me. I said it's a flamethrower." Girls.”
David Wong, John Dies at the End

David Wong
“PEOPLE DIE.
This is the fact the world desperately hides from us from birth. Long after you find out the truth about sex and Santa Claus, this other myth endures, this one about how you’ll always get rescued at the last second and if not, your death will at least mean something and there’ll be somebody there to hold your hand and cry over you. All of society is built to prop up that lie, the whole world a big, noisy puppet show meant to distract us from the fact that at the end, you’ll die, and you’ll probably be alone.”
David Wong, John Dies at the End

“I am getting so far out one day I won't come back at all.”

“So many books, so little time.”

Matt Williams Hello Goodreader's,

I am a 24 year old writer from England, Brighton. I have currently finished my first Novel 'Sket City - in your dreams with a six legged carcass' available on Amazon. I'd like fellow readers, if possible, to take some time to visit my website www.sketcity.co.uk or go directly to http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sket-City-Mat... and read the first four chapters. I am open to criticism good, or, bad! I'd just like to hear your opinions. I am also very happy to read over any literature that fellow goodreaders have written, and give feedback, so feel free to message me at any time. :)

The description to my book is in my profile. Thanks,

Matt Cary Williams
