Christina Dodd You join my mailing list at http://christinadodd.com and when the announcement comes that we're running the contest to fill the Reviewers' Club available spaces, you enter and win. Right now, we have 50 spaces, all filled, but there are always a few readers who don't post their reviews or don't let us know they did, so we'll run another contest when the time comes.
Christina Dodd I'm sorry, but I don't have anything to do with the giveaways. My publisher does that. Maybe contact Goodreads?

Christina Dodd I try and read the reviews, but sometimes there's not enough time in the world. Are you in my Reviewers' Club? In that case, please write and let us know where/what you posted and we'll try to figure it out. Thank you for the review!
Christina Dodd Why don't you just ask me which is my favorite child? :)
Historical: RUNAWAY PRINCESS
Paranormal: SCENT OF DARKNESS
Suspense: BECAUSE I'M WATCHING
Those are off the top of my head without looking at my booklist (which I promise is on my website and links are everywhere, but let me share anyway— http://www.christinadodd.com/books-by... ) If you ask me at a different time, you're probably going to get different answers. I only write books I like, so…
Christina Dodd Kateri may be my favorite character ever, so I'm glad you like her, too. Kateri is the anchor in all the books, but having said that, THE WOMAN WHO COULDN'T SCREAM (Sept. 5) is a split screen with an old friend of Kateri's who shows up in town with a mysterious secret, and Kateri. I think you'll be happy when you read it. RT Book Reviews gave it an early review and they said, “This book is the payoff Kateri fans have been waiting for…" You can read an excerpt on my website: http://www.christinadodd.com/book/the...
Christina Dodd Usually there's a lot of sweat and toil involved in a title, talking with author friends and publishers. But THE WOMAN WHO COULDN'T SCREAM came to me in a flash in the middle of the night. The perfect title! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Best,
Christina Dodd
Christina Dodd Darkness Chosen is first, but of course they can be read separately. There's a lot of information. Click through the links on the sidebar. http://www.christinadodd.com/genre/da... Enjoy!

Christina Dodd Do you want to write a book? Write it. Writing is hard work, it's never quite right, it keeps you on your toes, and on those moments when it's good, it's SO GOOD.

Now … will you be able to successfully publish your efforts? Maybe not. That's a different question entirely. Publishing involves social media, professional intelligence, a little legal good sense, and a tough hide (bc not everyone is going to like your story.) So you'd better like the writing process, and if you do, then write for your own satisfaction, your own happiness, and if you make money and get acclaim…YAY! But money and acclaim are a side benefit. The cool part is telling the story you love. You can read a little about my own journey here: http://www.christinadodd.com/meet-chr... and I have writing advice on my website under "Opinions." I suggest you start here: http://www.christinadodd.com/christin... Hope that helps!
Christina Dodd My publisher is running the Goodreads arc giveaways. If I have an unclaimed arc later in July, I'll run a contest for my mailing list. A lady in Australia won the last contest…it took SIX WEEKS to get to her, but she finally got it. So hopefully there'll be one left and we can do another contest. :)
Christina Dodd I do! Every year we run a contest for my mailing list and randomly pick readers for my Virtue Falls Reviewers' Club. You can read about it here and join my mailing list! http://www.christinadodd.com/newslett...
Christina Dodd I must. I've been married to my husband since the earth's crust cooled. We've been thru good times. We've been thru very very bad times. At once point when our kids were little, the housing industry crashed, he lost his job and we lost our house. It took us ten years to claw our way out of debt and trust me, we didn't always like each other. But we were too broke to divorce and so we made it to the other side. Thru it all, he supported my writing efforts. It took me ten years to get published — I didn't make a dime that whole time — but he believed in me and eventually his belief was rewarded. We've got two daughters and two dogs. We're happy and in love, and that's very nice. You can read more and see our wedding photo here: http://www.christinadodd.com/romance-...
Christina Dodd Yes, my books embrace all faiths and peoples.
Christina Dodd Since I currently write about Virtue Falls on the Pacific coast in WA, I use the (brace yourself) local cemetery records to grab names that are prevalent in the area. I'll take a first name from one burial and a last name from another. I know it seems odd, but to me it makes sense to add reality to the stories.

If I need ethnic names, I look on Wikipedia for most popular names in different countries. Hope that helps!
Christina Dodd Honestly, the one I'm writing. I like to immerse myself in a genre, read a lot of it, watch it on TV and movies, and plot and write.
Christina Dodd That depends. :) I've published 52 books (and written 54) and they truly are all different. I always try to remember the advice I heard long ago — start as far into the story as you can. But once, with DANGER IN A RED DRESS, I started far into the story and kept having to go back and back and it turned out where I had originally started was about 100 pages into the book. I'm currently writing the fourth Virtue Falls suspense and I think I nailed the first chapter. But this is what keeps me enthralled with writing — it's always different and new and I never really know what I'm doing. Maybe someday…
