Douglas Lumsden My plan is to end the Southerland series with the 7th book and start a new series set in the same world featuring a new lead character: Benedict Shade (Shade the Collector). The first book in the new series will include Alexander Southerland as a secondary character.

Douglas Lumsden I have no idea why anyone would price their ebook higher than their paperback. Maybe they want to discourage sales of their ebook and encourage sales of their paperback? It's certainly not something I would ever do.
Douglas Lumsden That’s what they tell me😆
Douglas Lumsden My advice? Relax. Don't force it. Don't agonize. Don't grit your teeth. Don't beat your head against the wall. Stop telling everyone how tortured you are. Just write. Write because you like to write. If it doesn't come out the way you want it, don't worry about it. You'll fix it later.

Constant reviewing of your work is critical. If nothing else, reviewing what you've already written is a great way to build up the momentum you need to move forward. Begin every writing session by reviewing what you wrote during your last session. Polish, tune, or rewrite as needed. Don't commit yourself to an idea or direction that doesn't get you excited. If you don't like what you wrote yesterday, toss it out and go another way. No day of writing is wasted, even if it winds up on the cutting room floor. It all counts, even if you don't include it in your final product.
Douglas Lumsden I make coffee for my wife every morning. She likes it with a little bit of cinnamon and a pinch of powdered chocolate mix. One morning, I was shaking out some cinnamon and measuring out some chocolate, eyeing it critically to make sure I had the right amount, and I thought that this is how witches must feel when they are fixing up potions. That's when I knew that my next book was going to feature a witch. The book (A Witch Steps into My Office) grew from there.
