As soon as I find the perfect narrator (and the $$) I intend to make Tales into an audiobook.
Book two has undergone a shift and will have a different title than originally planned. But I promise it will completely rock! It may take a bit longer than expected though since I now have two day jobs. :D
Never fear, Khoury and Cara and Falin are "up to their eyeballs in gators" as we speak!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The sequel is well underway. I want it to shine the way Dreamwalker does but good writing takes time. As of now, I plan on releasing it early 2018. I had been hoping for January, but real life issues have delayed that. It likely will be closer to spring.
That is why I decided to release my first companion novel, Tales of the Archer, next month. Sort of a treat to keep you busy while I finish polishing the sequel. A small book, both in page count and in scope, it focuses on Bear Clan and Archer's history. There are no spoilers in it to either Dreamwalker or Chasing the Legend (book 2). But a little bird told me that some of the events in Tales will play a part in the situation Archer finds himself in in Chasing the Legend. I may be posting all or part of chapter 1 on my blog in the next week or two for you to see what you think.
Also, you can sign up for my newsletter through my blog if you want to be notified of new releases, sales, and Advanced Reader Copy availability. Actually, come to think of it, I still have a few ARC copies available for Tales of the Archer. If you are interested in obtaining one, send me a message here or on FB. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I won't let you down.

Oh so many places to choose from. I'd love to ride dragons so Pern might work, but I really don't think I'm cut out for dodging Thread. Or perhaps, I could drop into Piers Anthony's Xanth, and find out what magic I'm made of. Maybe the ability to make avocados ripen when you want them to every time.
Actually, I think I'd like to go to Tolkein's Rohan. As a long-time horse fanatic, I would love to be one of the Rohirrim, a shield maiden of Rohan like Eowyn. Yes, that's where I'd like to go. I'd ride across the vast plains of Middle Earth for the rest of my days. ;)

I hope to spend much of this summer writing but I an eager to finish up A.D. Trosper's Dragon Call series, Carol Berg's Avonar books, more Blackthorn and Grim by J. Marillier and any other cover that strikes my fancy. Of course, if anyone has suggestions, please feel free to comment.

Hi Angela, I just saw your comment on my blog as well. Thank you for your kind words and interest. To answer your questions, I am currently in what I consider to be final revisions of Chasing the Legend, Corthan Legacy Book 2. Mind you, it's a big book and needs to go to an editor also when I'm through and then probably a bit of tweaking afterward. With all that, I am hoping for an end of the year release for it. I will certainly keep everyone updated by my blog and twitter and Facebook.
After Chasing the Legend, there will definitely be one more book, tentatively titled The Road Home.
Good news, I have written a novella that tells a bit about the history of Archer and Maura. It should be released within two months, keep your eye out for preorders available in June. I am intending to do them as audiobooks, but that is a longer wait and I'm not sure of those deadlines yet.
Thank you again for reaching out to me. It is lovely to meet you.

Any mystery book plots to be found in my own life would have been during the end of my marriage. Failed marriages and infidelity often provide grist for the mystery mill.

I saw this question a few days ago and you have sort of stumped me. One might say something like Harry Potter because who wouldn't want to be so wildly successful. But I don't think that's the kind of answer you're looking fore.
I suppose I could just answer with one of my favorite books (of which there are many). I mean, who wouldn't want to put their name on something beautiful and enjoyable and tantalizing. But truthfully when I really love a book, I bask in it and lose myself for those hours. I have never thought, "I wish I'd written this." And besides, most of these are stories I don't think I could have written. They aren't "me" enough.
If I really search my memory, the only ones that could come close to something I might have written and really enjoyed would be the Faded Sun trilogy by C.J. Cherryh. Those resonated with a deep chord in me. The alien/outsider anthropological stories have always appealed to me and stll do. And I really enjoyed Cherryh's writing.
I hope that's answer enough but thanks for the trip down memory lane. It was fun remembering all the books that I loved, the ones that probably influenced me unconsciously, and may echo in my future stories.

Sometimes I love the couples that fight against their destiny, like Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy. You could guess they'd get together based on the sparks that fly from the first. The softening emotional arc as pride leads to respect and then regard is always so satisfying.
Then, there are the couples who have to hide their affection due to circumstances, like Roy Mustang and Riza in Fullmetal Alchemist-Brotherhood.
Then, there are those couples whose timing is painfully off, like Rosie and Alex in "Love, Rosie." You get sucked in and end up cringing for them, hoping ever harder the next time they will find each other.
Unlike some of my friends, I do like the love triangle. I would choose Mal for Alina over the Darkling in the Grisha Trilogy, Elias over Keenan for Laia in Ember in the Ashes series, and always Peeta over Gale for Katniss.
But as plebian as it sounds, I have to admit my all time favorite couple is probably Han Solo and Princess Leia in Empire Strikes Back.

Two things. Believe in yourself and be tough on yourself. I'm better at the second, I have to admit. As to the first, the father of a high school friend was an author back in the 1980s. He had a card he wrote to himself on the wall. It said: "No one asked you to be a writer." It's hard but true. Your claps are the ones that will really make this Tinkerbell fly though others can help. And no one else will ever believe in your story, your characters more than you. It is like having children with all the attendant dismays, joys and worries.
As for being tough, make sure you are putting out your best work. You know when you read through the MS for the 13,456th time that that one damned section is just NOT WORKING. Don't let it lie. Do the hard work. Push through the changes that need to be made. When you do, you'll be glad you did and your readers will thank you too.

Currently, my efforts at a sequel for Dreamwalker have been hijacked by a NaNoWriMo story I had written in 2012. It's about daemons and angels and freedom. It's going to be totally awesome and hopefully will be out before your need to stock up your Kindles for those beach reads.

Simply put, stress and downtime. I think it's kind of like putting whiskey in your coffee. Stress makes me want to get up and move, do something! Anything! For me downtime usually means being out in nature, walking in the woods. It gives me a solitude and a framework to let my mind browse the stories that make it happy. I just have to remember them when I get back and write them down.

I don't really use that term when I'm "not writing." If I can't sit down and just write, there could be many causes. Perhaps I have too much "mom" or "employee" stuff that is waiting to be finished and an hour of clearing my plate works wonders. Sometimes it's because the scene I'm writing isn't quite ready yet. Maybe it needs percolating, maybe something isn't gelling quite right. I re-read what came before in the story to get in the mindset but if that doesn't work, I'll hook the leash on my dog and hit the nearby forest trails. Usually plot-kinks are easier to unravel when I'm not at my desk. Some days though, the only way to work is just to slog realizing that tomorrow you will probably need to redo what you've done today. It's all good though, for me writing isn't usually a straight progression and I don't let it get to me when it's being stubborn.

My current work in progress began as a short story for submission to a magazine. At that time, the prompt was "abandoned towers". The story wasn't chosen, but I liked the character so much that I decided to revamp it into a novel. The abandoned towers that began it all now serve as the backdrop for Khali Rujan's tale of heartbreak and redemption.
