Anne H. Janzer Your Ingram books should be appearing on Amazon. You can also publish a paperback on both Ingram and KDP (as long as you don't choose Extended Distribution on KDP when publishing). It's the same book, so you can use the same files and ISBN, although because the paper thickness is a bit different, you might need your cover designer to make a slight adjustment to the spine depth.
Anne H. Janzer I am finishing up a book on writing in the workplace - The Workplace Writer's Process. It's about all the things they don't teach in writing class that you need to succeed when writing in an organization,
Anne H. Janzer I think of myself as having an inner Muse - which must collaborate with my inner Scribe to actually get the work done. To get inspired, I try to find ways to coax the Muse into the work - getting out of the office, pondering topics during times of open attention.
Anne H. Janzer My favorite thing about being a writer is growing and learning through writing. When I approach writing with a growth mindset, it frees me up to explore and dive into topics that I know little about. Most of this writing, I'm happy to say, doesn't see the light of day. But some of it becomes fodder for other work, and the process is fun.
Anne H. Janzer Don't wait - don't wait until you know what you want to write about, until you have everything lined up, until you've figured out the entire plot, until conditions are perfect. Start writing, even if you never plan to share what you're writing, and your brain will start providing things to write about. Write for exploration and discovery - write with a "growth mindset." You may toss out everything you write, but you'll end up in a different place.
Anne H. Janzer The book The Writer's Process has an entire chapter dedicated to writer's block! I try to find ways to invite my inner Muse (the associative and subconscious parts of my mind) to the writing process by thinking about a problem or situation and then doing something else that does not require focused attention. Great alternatives include taking a walk or using the rowing machine. Ideas tend to start flowing when I step away from the desk for a while.
Anne H. Janzer "What about marketing?" That was the question I kept asking myself as I noted, and wrote about, business models shifting to subscriptions. In technology companies, more business revenues now come from recurring sources (renewals, subscriptions). Cloud software is a case in point. But marketing practices remain focused primarily on lead generation and lead nurturing. But not everywhere. Creative businesses find ways to extend marketing to existing customers. So I wrote the book I felt was missing - how marketing remains relevant and strategic when more revenues come from existing customers.
