Joanne Harris is one of my favourite writers so I would go to "Chocolat" country in France and my first stop would be the chocolate shop where I could drink hot chocolate and have a basket of delicious home made chocolates, especially if the weather is anything like it is today in the south of England!

'Left Standing' a memoir by Alan Johnson. My priority at present is to finish my latest novel called 'FATHER'S DEAD - WHERE'S MOTHER? A girl's search for the truth.

I think I was drawn to her writing by the reviews I read. As one said ' they are sparkling readable novels about every day life in rural England. 'Girl from the south' is one of my favourites because it is set in two places - London and South Carolina. I was influenced by this and used the idea in my first novel 'Cry for me Argentina' that takes place at different times in Bath, Manchester, Switzerland and Argentina. I hope to improve on this idea in my next novel 'Father's Dead & Mother's Vanished - a girl's search for the truth'. This novel takes place in England, Bordeaux in France and finally Haiti.

In my opinion the best thing is completing a project, novel, short stories or whatever and holding the published book in your hand. Amazon/ Createspace has made this possible for us all. Not too keen on the marketing side because it is too time consuming and prevents us from getting on with the next book!

The idea for my book 'Dog Tales & Other Gems' came when I was sorting out all my short stories and articles. I decided to put them together in one book. I also invited my Field Spaniel friends to contribute suitable articles about, training and showing their dogs. Mainly I wanted to record the facts and feelings people acquire when they own a Field Spaniel. I also wanted to include photos & illustrations. In retrospect, I could have produced two books with all my material! This would have made the selling price more viable. However, the eBook is reasonably priced!
