Mary Grand
Mary Grand asked Phyllis Goodwin:

Hi Phyllis, was very excited just to read that Joanna Trollope was an influence on your writing.I love her books...how do you think she affects your writing?

Phyllis Goodwin I think I was drawn to her writing by the reviews I read. As one said ' they are sparkling readable novels about every day life in rural England. 'Girl from the south' is one of my favourites because it is set in two places - London and South Carolina. I was influenced by this and used the idea in my first novel 'Cry for me Argentina' that takes place at different times in Bath, Manchester, Switzerland and Argentina. I hope to improve on this idea in my next novel 'Father's Dead & Mother's Vanished - a girl's search for the truth'. This novel takes place in England, Bordeaux in France and finally Haiti.
