I can't say that I have one way to get inspired to write. Sometimes, I'll see something from a beautiful sunset to a leftover fruit snack under one of the kid's booster seats, and it'll just flip a switch for me and get me going. Other times, especially when I am struggling to get going again, I will allow myself to relax and read something from one of my favorite authors, and seeing the finished product and knowing the work it took to get there will get me going again.

Writer's block can definitely be a pain to deal with. One of my favorite ways to get past it is actually to go back and edit/revise an earlier part of my current project. A lot of times, looking for the technical errors leads me to also noticing issues in the story/characters/etc, and that can get the creative juices flowing again.

I'm currently working on another novel set in the world I created in Aradia. It's the story of another character from Aradia, and how she got to her place in the Kingdom of Graysen.

I got the idea for Backyard Faeries looking out into my backyard in the evenings. We have a lot of fireflies there in the summer, and it made me think of faeries and some of my favorite tales. And it went on from there...
