Somewhere with fairies and magic.

No. I write historical fiction and it takes a lot more than two sentences to have a great story :).

I would love to finally get to The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom, Egypt by John Crowley, and The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman.

The personal behind-the scenes story of how One of Windsor came about and the interesting events that took place during the process of writing and publishing the book.

I loved watching Yuri and Lara in the film Dr Zhivago because of the intensity and passion in their relationship against a turbulent historical background. It was tragic yet beautiful. I will never forget the romantic setting of the frozen dacha in the Russian countryside where they shared their poetic love in respite from the cruel and sterile world around them. Doctor Zhivago was adapted from the book Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak.

My first story addresses a local (Connecticut) historical mystery that I heard about. (Who was Alse Young, America's first witch hanging victim and what event and factors led to her death?) It just wouldn't leave my mind and I had to figure it out. Even though the story is based on a real person and real events, I did need to fill in several gaps by adding literary inventions. Thus, it is classified as historical fiction.
My latest novel, The Salty Rose: Alchemists, Witches & A Tapper in New Amsterdam tells the story of an independent and colorful tavern keeper and her acquaintance with a New England alchemist and merchant which influences the Hartford Witch Panic and the takeover of New Amsterdam.

Historical articles for scholarly journals detailing the evidence I found about the probable identity of Alice (Alse) Young, America's first witch hanging victim. I also have an outline for a ghost story and am pondering development of a couple other stories as well. Most of my energy in the next few months will be promotion of my new book baby, The SaltyRose: Alchemists, Witches & A Tapper in New Amsterdam which is a sequel to One of Windsor.

I wrote at least 500 hundred words a day NO MATTER WHAT just to get the story down. I plotted what my progress should have been ahead of time on a calendar. Some days it felt good. Others...not so much. But once you have your story written out you can revise it and craft it. That's the fun part.
