Award-winning author and researcher, Beth M Caruso, has been involved in efforts to educate the public about the Connecticut witch trials through her written work and exoneration efforts. She is the author of the Connecticut Witch Trials Trilogy. She is the first and ONLY human author thus far to write about Alice 'Alse' Young and her daughter.

(Who was Alse Young, America's first witch hanging victim and what event and factors led to her death?) It just wouldn't leave my mind and I had to figure it out. Even though the story is based on a real person and real events, I did need to fill in several gaps by adding literary inventions. Thus, it is classified as historical fiction.

My latest novel, The Salty Rose: Alchemists, Witches & A Tapper in New Amsterdam tells the story of an independent and colorful tavern keeper and her acquaintance with a New England alchemist and merchant which influences the Hartford Witch Panic and the takeover of New Amsterdam.
