C.W. Clark I tend to practice an entirely non-linear style of writing, which means that I write scenes that I am interested in at the moment and then fill in the lines between afterward. It keeps me motivated during that particular scene and also gives me definitive start and end points along the way. It's much easier to avoid mental blockage when the part I am writing isn't entirely open-ended.
C.W. Clark The drive to write came from a keen interest in taking a number of disparate ideas and finding a way to tie them all together. Much like theories of the butterfly effect or six degrees of separation, finding the threads that tie things together brings me joy. Writing for me is probably two-thirds that, one third entertaining myself with juvenile humor, and one third giving in to the demands of the voices in my head.
C.W. Clark It started out by watching people trying to navigate life while having their full attention on the cell phone in front of them. They'll walk into traffic, run off the road, fall off of high places trying to take a selfie... So, that became somewhat of the impetus (with the help of some evil geniuses) that drives the plot of The Mortal Coil Shuffle.
C.W. Clark A sequel to The Mortal Coil Shuffle.
C.W. Clark Make sure you have a well-paying job before you start.
