May Freighter She opened her eyes in the darkness that smelled of pumpkin spice and blood. If she lives through the night, she won't be buying a latte from Starbucks in October again.
May Freighter I would love to travel to the Helena Hawthorn series universe and see my characters in person, but I'm sure they would murder me for being such a mean author.
May Freighter I have to catch up on The Soul Summoner series (books 3 & 4), "Crime & Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoyevky, "The 5 Wave" by Rick Yancey, and hopefully some good romance books.
May Freighter Wow. That's a tough question. I live on the ground floor of a large apartment block. There is this inner garden we all share, and, a lot of the time, we can see into each others' windows. No one really knows anyone here. My low odds of witnessing a murder or something creepy would most definitely make me want to write that mystery.
May Freighter I think Cat and Bones from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. They make a great couple who start off on the wrong foot. When I was reading that series, I couldn't put her books down. There was chemistry, well developed characters with intriguing pasts, action, and a lot of romance, too.
May Freighter A bit of both. I spend a lot of time learning editing as well as cover design. When I finish a draft, I leave it for a while and go over it again with a more open mind a few weeks later (sometimes months). Then, I try to involve an editor to help me find plot holes and issues with the story and wording.
The rest is reshaping, editing again, and proofreading.

:)
May Freighter Humm, I guess I'll have to talk about "Overexposed" which is currently in a 1st draft stage. It's a romance, which is not the genre I usually put forth as my main one. I prefer mystery, thrills, lies, deceit. Okay, fine, I guess it's not a normal romance after all.
Right, getting back on track... The idea for OE came from a music video "Poison" by Rita Ora. There, she is a model who falls in love with a photographer who offers her a job. That gave me enough to work with to create a basis from the beginning of the story. Thereafter, it gets a little complicated with mental health research and trying to find my way around Manhattan with the help of Google maps.
May Freighter Write. Read. Edit. Repeat.
I think these are some of the fundementals a writer should focus on. To improve one's vocabulary, a person must read. To improve their writing, they must write and edit their work. There is no way to escape these steps. So, work hard and have fun. As long as you enjoy what you're doing and try hard to get better, you'll be fine.
May Freighter I have no idea. It just happens of it's own accord. I could be watching a music video, reading a book, drinking tea, watching the sky, and a possible plot will just pop into my head.
I think we all have an ability to create a story from as little as a single word. It is up to us to put the effort in and write it out for others to take the journey along with the characters and the writer.
May Freighter Meeting new people without leaving your room. I got to meet so many odd characters. Some of them are like role models to me. I feel they have so much strength in the darkest of times, they give me hope that even in most awful situations there is something to be learned or a way out which may present itself when you least expect it. I guess the best thing about being a writer is that you are more hopeful for the better outcome.
May Freighter I think that I just keep working through it. Most of the time, the characters save me from it by giving me the answer to something that was bothering me for a while. If writing doesn't come at all, then I take a break from it altogether and do something fun like watch a new TV series, go to see a new movie, or have a game-a-ton.
May Freighter Currently, I'm working on book 4 of the Helena Hawthorn series "Fated Origins" as well as plotting the events for "Case: 1", which is the second book of "Annalise Storm Chronicles". On the side, I'm editing "Demon Gates"(Book #2) and "Alexander: Memoirs" (prequel to Helena Hawthorn series).
