Utkarsh Mohan Faith that the ideas will come. When I started the God of Sex & Gold and Rock'n'Roll, I had no idea how to end it. Even when I finished writing the first draft, the ending was far from satisfactory but I knew that the right idea would come one day. It took more than a year since then and came completely out of the blue while sipping mocha on a rainy day but now, in my humble opinion, the ending is possibly the best part of the book and rounds it off in a way I cannot be more happy with.
Utkarsh Mohan the fact that nothing is impossible. You can imagine any thing you like and there are no limits to imagination. This is what still separates writing from cinema which has very obvious limits in what it can depict and I hope will keep writing from dying off even if human attention spans keep shortening at the shocking pace it has been since the advent of the internet
Utkarsh Mohan Keep at it. Rather akin to the Under Armour campaign, most of the work is done 'in the dark' when no one can see you but the quality of the work is its own reward
Utkarsh Mohan No new material at the moment, am focussing a bit more on getting my other dream, a fully recorded music album off the ground. I do have a novel idea in mind but I have to be significantly better versed in philosophy and political science to bring it to life
Utkarsh Mohan No inspiration needed really. I was a voracious reader as a child and all it took was the introduction of a PC to my house when I was ten to get me to start putting pen to paper ( or rather screen). My first novel, the Six Crime Solvers, done when I was eleven, was a shot-out to Enid Blyton, the second " Sachin Kumar and the Celestial Hand" when I was fourteen was rather akin to Harry Potter in the distant future and elicited some interest from publishers but for my age. I have been sporadically working on a number of ideas since then but getting the God of Sex & Gold and Rock'n'Roll right has been my focus for the last seven years or so
Utkarsh Mohan On a particularly insomniac night about a year or so after I had started working. I was thinking about all the music I had written through college, now just sitting in my laptop and how I'd probably never get the chance to do them justice. And the basic plot of the book was born.
