Hi Jackie! I apologize for the late reply. Unfortunately, I did not see your question until now! *cries a little inside*
Thank you for reading The Hidden Legacy! I am absolutely thrilled you enjoyed it. I am currently working on the sequel, so fingers crossed it will be coming out this year. Feel free to follow me on IG and FB for updates!

By opening my mind and trying new things. Writer's block usually happens when I'm stuck in a day-to-day routine where nothing is changing, so I shake things up. I go for a hike somewhere new or explore the city. I step outside my comfort zone.
I meet up with friends and discuss what I'm working on, letting them tell me what they think should or shouldn't happen. Different perspectives can bring new ideas to the table that can inspire you to get writing again!

In the shower! Believe it or not, I get inspired by the most random events and music that I'm listening to. Washing my hair + rock music = coming up with the idea for my upcoming dystopian novel.

I am working on a dystopian novel that I am very excited to share with all of you! I am well aware that there are many dystopian novels circulating the YA market these days, but I've been sitting on this idea for almost 5 years. It has been an incredible experience finally writing the storyline.
As much as I'm dying to divulge more information, I will keep the general idea of this novel a secret until it is closer to publication.

Do not get discouraged. You have to work hard to accomplish your end goal. Whether that is completing your full manuscript or sending your book to publishers - rejection and writer's block can be disappointing. You have to push through it.
The best advice I can give is this:
"Work for something more than you dream of it."
The world doesn't owe you anything because you wrote a story. If you want it published, you have to prove that the work is worth a second look. Publishers and agents are always looking for a fresh idea or a cool new perspective/twist. Show them what you can do.

Inspiration stems from everywhere and everything. Going on walks, the people you meet, listening to the sounds of the world - they all inspire something I attribute to my stories. I really get inspired while travelling and experiencing new cultures and environments. I feel more connected that way.
I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but listening to music ties the idea together. Different genres and songs elicit emotions. The stronger ones create a story in my head. Each song afterwards continues the storyline until I have a complete idea in mind. It's impossible to let that go, so I write what I envision.
