Peter Rendell I turned on my masculine charm and took a beautiful young lady to my hotel bed. I awoke in the morning with the normal wood, two bulges in my shaft and an inner conviction that I was carrying another egg; I was pregnant!
Peter Rendell I would wish to live in the world of the Pantheon Gods and to be seduced by Pan. I would be Aphrodite. Let the magic begin.
Peter Rendell All contact information is at the back of the book. The prequel to "Samantha's Journey into Real Magic Part1" is called "Merlin Parnassus" and will be released on 25-Sep-2017.
Peter Rendell I did visit your blog and left my response to your first discussion on 'moods and attitudes'. I added a further element 'circumstance'. You cannot ask a homeless man to be happy!
As to your meandering thoughts on 'the meaning of life', 'death' and consequences, I suggest you will find some possible answers in 'Samantha's Journey ....'; note the entries in her 'Little Black Book'.
Peter Rendell Steering the craft (Ursula K. Le Guin), The magic of NLP demystified (Byron Lewis), The Idiot Brain (Dean Burnet), The next book by Jesse Wolf (see Big Closet).
Peter Rendell The mystery is Telepathy. How would I go about proving it exists? But, could that research be the basis for a plot? That seems unlikely as research is painstakingly methodical, clinical, sterile, global and inefficient; all elements that would be the basis of a boring novel. The SF/Fantasy community has speculated on Telepathy for many years. Telepathy is the communication between persons by mental processes such as thoughts. Some extend this principle to include emotions, taste and smell. The communication is instantaneous and global. The phenomenon is not electro-magnetic and so the first problem is to define how it will be detected. Hardly the basis for a novel.
Peter Rendell Every wall has a foundation. List every brick that surrounds your current brick. Describe every brick in every detail. You will soon see the flaws, or floors. As you expand from where you are, you will soon find a door, or a window, that allows you to move forward. If you are still stuck, then dig up the foundations.
Sometimes, you will have to start again.
Peter Rendell It's pure escapism. You take a dream and write about it. I can choose which character is me at any given moment. There may be only one character that is me and the world is against me. It can be very therapeutic. Only you can determine if your story might entertain the rest of the world.
Peter Rendell The world is changing. You are changing. Don't give up. Read the 'How to' guides. Then reread what you have written. In your early days (first five years?), your story will grow by evolution - you are learning your craft. By the time you have finished you will have written five times as much as you actually published. You will find that 'what you were originally trying to say' may be the same, but it may easily have become mellowed or more radical. Never lose sight of your targets. Make sure they are there before you start.
Peter Rendell Finish the editing of SJ part 1. Edit SJ part 2. Rebuild my accounts on Smashwords and Amazon KDP. Somehow, tell those who may be interested about my book.
Peter Rendell Many ideas start from dreams. I have tried to master the art of lucid dreaming. As soon as I wake after a dream, I spend the next hour trying to brain dump every thought and emotion. These special dreams only happen a few times a year.
For the rest of the year, I fall back onto a standard technique. Each night, I meditate on a thought that I would like to dream about. Most nights I wake up and nothing has happened. Sometimes during the day, a new idea occurs. My subconscious has been working on the idea.
Inspiration comes from 99% perspiration. You must keep breaking down every aspect of the idea.
The inspiration to write comes from an explosion of ideas and a desire to record the thoughts before the conscious mind starts to edit them.
Peter Rendell If you are blessed with the gift of real magic then what would you do with it? What is the minimum skillset that you would need to make it work? Naturally, you cannot do anything you like because all problems will be overcome - this would violate the basis of most stories. So what would be the things that magic cannot handle? Defining the types of magic and the restrictions proved very entertaining. So that was the setting for my world.
Now, I take a deep inner feeling and expand it. One of the greatest evils in this world is 'rape'! What would I do, if I was 100% certain that a man was guilty of rape? What skills would I need? I must be able to read a man's memories to determine their guilt. They must be physically prevented from ever doing it again. They should be given a chance of redemption. What would be 'true justice' for the rapist? - Change the man into a woman. - Now they will know the fear of rape! - Now they have a second chance at life!
