It's not you. I didn't add it. Just got back home today. Will try to get it up on Goodreads today - tomorrow at the latest.

I'll look into it. Thought it was there already. I'm not home for the next couple of days, but I'll attempt to get it on in a day or so. Glad you enjoyed the book and I look forward to reading your review. Susan

I was stuck on book three of the Sugar Shack series. One story line was complete, but the second was begun, with no clear path forward. After a while of no inspiration, I just started something different. I actually finished that book before I went back to book three. The lag was over six months. That is probably not a methodology everyone can use. I have no pressure on me to complete anything. I write because it's fun. Being stuck isn't fun, so putting the problem aside works for me. Of course, I'm always open for inspiration to strike.

Write - whatever you want, as much and as often as you can. Facility with language will allow you to say what you really mean. Read, but not just the kind of thing you think you might like to write. If you find an author or work that really appeals to you, get lost in the story and then go back and dissect the work. Learn from the things you read. And don't be afraid to just plunge in. Look critically at what you've written. With each new effort, you will have gained experience and knowledge.

At the moment, I'm writing my seventh novel and looking into promoting CATNAPPED a bit more before I venture into releasing any more of my work. Novel seven is a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, but all my novels are at their heart, romances.

I actually draw a great deal of inspiration from other works. I have eclectic tastes in reading (fiction) and it seems whatever I've just finished prompts me to consider a variation/expansion of some aspect, adding elements from other sub-genres.

I'm a big fan of Janet Evanovich and hated waiting for the next installment for a year. I love her quirky characters and the absurd situations. Thought I might take a shot at seeing if I could create some of the same. I love animals and lived a good bit of time in northern Virginia, so I started from there. I had a great deal of fun writing CATNAPPED and liked the characters so much, I couldn't stop at just one story.
